  Apex
Located in southwestern Wake County, Apex combines a relaxing small-town atmosphere with convenience to big-city amenities. It is positioned for future growth and the town planners are working to ensure that the small-town character remains while allowing for many new residents to join our community. In 1994 Apex was named the state's #1 Small Town in economic vitality by Business North Carolina magazine. A major streetscape renovation project has restored Apex's downtown and recaptured its historic flavor. The revitalized downtown is on the National Register of Historic Places as one of the best examples of an intact turn-of-the-century railroad town.

  Knightdale
Knightdale has a recorded heritage that dates back to the colonial era in American history. For many years the area was a crossroads served only by a post office. Near the end of the 19th century, many citizens of this area saw the need to establish a town. One of these people was Mr. Henry Haywood Knight who donated some of his vast land holdings in the area to the Norfolk and Southern Railroad Company in the hopes that a railroad would come to the area. The railroad would provide freight and passenger service, and would facilitate the incorporation of the community. After his death in 1904, the railroad finally came to the community that would bear his name then life and commerce in this area began to move at a faster pace. Helped along by the baby boom following World War II, the population of Knightdale grew at a steady pace, but it retained its small town atmosphere.

  Morrisville
More and more people have discovered Morrisville in recent years, making it one of the fastest growing communities in Wake County. A special census conducted in 2004 gave Morrisville a current population estimate of 11,915, almost a 100% increase from the July 2002 Census figure of 6,086. Many new communities are being built in Morrisville, giving it a diverse range of housing options with home prices spanning from the low 100’s to the 500’s. The average home price in Morrisville has remained stable at $225,000. Often called the “Center of the Triangle” for its central location in this dynamic region, it is Triangle’s front door to those who arrive by plane through Raleigh Durham International Airport because it is adjacent to both RDU airport and Research Triangle Park. Morrisville is within a 15-minute drive of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill.

  Raleigh
Raleigh is a place where people still take the time to smile and wave and where your neighbors know you by name. A quality of life that has landed Raleigh among the nation’s best places to live, start a business, raise a family, and earn a world-class education. The Best Place to Live and Work in the Nation... the Best Business Climate... the Best Place in the US for Educational Opportunities... these are just a few of the many national and international accolades that Raleigh and the Research Triangle have received from publications that include Money, Fortune, and Time magazines. A recent survey showed an astounding 96 percent of newcomers with children said they would move to the area again if they had it to do all over. And unlike most metro areas in the US, Raleigh and the Triangle have all the amenities of big-city life without the high cost of living.

  Rolesville
Rolesville, NC, the small town with a bright future, is a town with the goal of guiding and maintaining a community that has a small town atmosphere while still being close enough to the large city and its offerings. Rolesville, the second oldest town in Wake County, is growing more than it ever has and is constantly focused on making it the best place to live, work, play, relax, and raise a family. The Town of Rolesville was first incorporated in 1837 and again on February 28, 1941. Over time, Rolesville has grown with leaps and bounds, but still has been able to maintain that small-town charm that we have all come to enjoy. There are now ten subdivisions that have either been completed or are in the process of being developed in and around the Rolesville area. There are plans for a new elementary school and even a new post office, both to be open within the next five years.

  Wake Forest
Located in northern Wake County, Wake Forest is a progressive community of over 25,000 residents with a vibrant downtown that boasts more than 100 businesses, including several outstanding restaurants and specialty shops. Mindful of its rich heritage, the downtown is also an officially registered historic district. Representative of its academic history, the town is the home of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and the Southeastern College at Wake Forest. Incorporated in 1909, Wake Forest continues its emergence as a major player in the phenomenal growth and activity witnessed throughout the Triangle. Wake Forest maintains its small town character, however, by captivating newcomers and long-time residents alike with its incomparable warmth and charm.

  Wendell
The Town of Wendell started in the 1850s when tobacco farmers in Granville County were hit with what came to be known as the Granville County Wilt. The tobacco crop failed and farmers from Granville County moved into eastern Wake County looking for fertile land to plant their crops. Wendell was incorporated in 1903. After the town was incorporated, more people and businesses moved into Wendell. Main Street was laid out by a man who drove a horse with a very wide plow up and down the area. That is why the street is so wide today.

  Zebulon
Zebulon owes its existence to the development of Zebulon Company and received its charter on February 15, 1906. On February 16, 1907, the Town was officially recognized as Zebulon, named after Zebulon B. Vance, the North Carolina Governor during the civil war. The last three decades in Zebulon have seen tremendous growth. Since 1970, its population grew from 1,830 to 4,046 residents. Ninety years after its incorporation, Zebulon welcomed its neighbor community, Wakefield, into the Town. It took place on December 31, 1997 and increased the total acreage inside the corporate limits to 2,115 acres and the population to 3,908. In the year 2000 the population has grown to 4,046. While it continues to grow and prosper, Zebulon still offers a close knit community environment and it remains, "The Town of Friendly People."
